I like the head sculpt as it has some likeness of Osama Bin Laden. The facial texture is good with realistic paint job. The outfit, boots and weapon are also well made. Anyway, will fix the head onto a suitable 1/6 body to display the "complete" figure on shelves.

This is my first and last 1/6 scale military figure in 2011. The figure resembles Aaron Eckhart as SSgt. Michael Nantz in "Battle: Los Angeles". Though the head likeness of the figure is not there, the overall quality of the product is still value for money.

As there are lots of accessories to be put onto the figure, I need some time to do that :P

Hot Toys "Superman" The Movie

Love the box packaging..Very nice and creative!!

Superman with his signature pose :)

The outfit is well replicated and even the fabric that Hot Toys used. The red boots are made of soft rubber material that allows the ankles to move.

I have no doubt the head sculpt has a perfect likeness of Christopher Reeve :P

Basic pose in the air..

Great facial texture with realistic skin colour application. The hair is also nicely sculpted.

To me, this is one of the highly recommended Hot Toys figures in the year..

This is the first Mattel "John Cena" figure I have for my collection. I like it very much as the outfit is well replicated to scale with great head sculpt. The figure also comes with WWE championship and former US Championship belts. The belts are well made and they look realistic. Love the accessories as well :P

The armoured case is very well replicated..

This is the battle-damaged arm with light-on feature :)

The armours are well sculpted..Nice grossy finishing on the red pieces..

Love the details of the armoured figure and the joints are pretty articulated..

Bandai Thundercats Classic "Lion-O" and "Tygra"

Finally collected my favourite Thundercats Classic action figures yesterday. The packaging is simple with transparent window that shows the figure and accessories within. Looking at the figures, I must say the heads of both characters are well sculpted and the paint work is fairly good. Will display them on my shelves soon :)

Wade Barrett is an English professional wrestler and a former Intercontinental Champion. He is a huge man and currently in Friday night Smackdown. I like this figure as its head sculpt has a very good likeness to the real person :P

Alberto Del Rio is a Mexican wrestler. I quite like him even if he plays a villain in the current RAW roster. His finishing move is "Cross Armbreaker" that always makes his opponents to "tap out" in the ring. A very practical move indeed!!

Hasbro Deluxe Class "Bumblebee" with add-on body kits.

Crankcase looks very fierce but it's in deluxe class series. Hope Hasbro can release it in leader class series one day :)

As Barricade appeared in the movie "Dark of the Moon", I have no hesitation to get it :)

First visit to Marina at Keppel Bay

It was the first time I went for a dinner in Prive Bakery Cafe at Keppel Bay.

The drinks and set meals are "okay" to me and I prefer more on the potato wedges.

According to the security guard there, there are people staying in their own yachts. I believe those people must be very rich :)

Hasbro Leader Class DOTM "Ultimate Optimus Prime"

Got the leader class Optimus Prime from U-toys last week and it is the Hong Kong version. Though Optimus did not form this mode in the movie, the figure looks great indeed. This one is really big as compared to the 2009 version :)

WWE "Kane" Mattel Elite Ringside Exclusive

As I am a huge fan of Kane, I would not miss the opportunity to get the Ringside Exclusive Kane figure. The mask is removable and it's perfectly fit to the head. Overall, the figure looks pretty cool with his mask on :p

A visit to IKEA Restaurant Alexandra

As I was told the chicken wings and meatballs in IKEA restaurant are delicious, I decided to have a try at IKEA Alexandra at one weekend.

As this was my first visit to the restaurant, I was surprised there are food service trolleys for customers to use if they have lots of orders.

For me, I definitely ordered the signature dishes "Chicken Wings" and "Pasta with Meatballs and Tomato Sauce" and not forgetting the "Raspberry Cheesecake".

I will go back the restaurant again as the food is really delicious..Yummy!!

Ted Chen Collection

Toy Carnival at Suntec from 27 to 29 May 2011

Similar to prior year, you would see some familiar faces in the event.

As I know Dave pretty well, he was not afraid of posing for my photo shoot. I guess Action City was the "big winner" of 2011 toy carnival as it finished selling all the Hot Toys "Mark VI" exclusive figures.

The left above is the model for aika.asiasoftsea.net (click to see 2010 model here) and Movie Mania was there.

As usual, took some photos on the cosplayers and I found some new faces this time round.

Besides offering "free" coffee, Nescafe organised some gaming programs to public.

If you won against that female player "Chun Li" (in the right above), you would get yourself a goodie bag from the organiser.

Medicom "Jango Fett" in Geonosis Version

Obviously, the difference between the earlier version and Geonosis version is the colour of the outfit. This one is purple colour and the earlier one is blue. I am surprise the colour paint of the helmet remains as blue. When putting his helmet on, the overall appearance looks a "little weird" to me. Anyway, will pose this figure on shelves :P

Sideshow "Commander Cody" 212th Attack Battalion

Got the Sideshow 1/6 scale "Commander Cody" early this week. I was very pleased when I saw the actual product. There are tons of accessories come with the figure including two helmets and one human head. The figure is amazing with fantastic paint work and weathering. The helmets are well sculpted and I have no issue with the weapons. I guess the "usual" complain for Sideshow figures is still their loose joints :)

I often visit Toysdaily Forum and Toy World Forum for latest news about any 1/6 scale release. A few days ago, I was shocked when browsing through Toy World Forum. Someone named STEAMBOY used my photo to support his repaint work without asking my permission or link the photo back to my blog. He even inserted his blog address in the bottom of the photo (original photo of mine). Though this is just a simple photo, I just feel it is a basic courtesy to ask for the owner’s permission or at least do a link back to the owner. He is obviously not a rookie for blogging. He should know the "so-called" rules when posting any photos that are belonged to others in his blog or forum.

WWE "Sheamus" Mattel Elite Series 8

Similar to Drew McIntyre in Elite Series 8, I love the championship belt as it is pretty well made. Unfortunately the front circle piece with WWE logo cannot be rotated. The head sculpt did resemble "Sheamus" but facial likeness is "okay" only. Anyway, I am still pleased with the over all paint job on the figure :)

Hasbro Leader Class DOTM "Sentinel Prime"

This is the first DOTM transformer I got for my collection. He is leader class Sentinel Prime by Hasbro. I like the articulation of the figure and he looks great to me. I am sure he is able to hold lots of great poses in robot mode. I will take more photos on him if time allows.

Enterbay "T Bag" in Prison Break

Seriously, I have lost confidence in Enterbay figures for quite some time until their recent release "Onimusha 3". When I saw the actual head sculpt of T Bag, I was pleased with the great paint job and sculpting work done by Enterbay. The head sculpt has very good likeness to "Robert Knepper" in "Prison Break" drama series. The eyes, eyebrows, lips, moustache and hair are well sculpted with realistic colour application. The texturing work on facial skin is also nicely executed and we could even see veins on both sides of the forehead.

As for the outfits, they are perfectly fit to the figure. The pink stripes with floral pattern shirt is my favourite. The boots have some weathering as well. The accessories are few bundles of cash, a dagger, one left gripped hand, one left prosthetic hand, a pair of handcuffs, a set of prison outfit and a display stand. Over all, I am very happy for getting this figure and Enterbay has improved in making the accessories too. The only complain to me is the pricing of the figure. I personally think Enterbay has over charged it as there are not much accessories we can get from this release.

Hot Toys Exclusive DX04 Bruce Lee "Enter The Dragon"

This is the first Hot Toys DX figure I have in my 1/6 collection. I have opened the box packaging and there are tons of accessories come with the figure. Both heads are well sculpted with good facial likeness of Bruce Lee. As this is an exclusive version, an extra clean muscle body is given and it is packed in a separate box. Review on this figure will be done in future :)

Chaoer "Slam Dunk" figure set

Before "Initial D", "Slam Dunk" was my favourite Japanese comic series. Therefore, I bought

this cute figure set last week.

The packaging is simple with a plastic window in front that shows the five members of

SHOHOKU team.

The back of the packaging shows images of all the figures in the set.

Top row are Rukawa Kaede, Sakuragi Hanamichi and Ryota Miyagi (my favourite character).

The bottom are Mitsui Hisashi and Takenori Akagi. They look nice when displaying them side

by side :P

Medicom "Boba Fett" Return of the Jedi Ver.

This is the second version 1/6 scale "Boba Fett" released by Medicom recently. It is also the same mold Medicom used to make for the first version. The difference between the first version and second version is the colour paint for gauntlets, helmet and backpack. The other gun is not given in this version. I have to admit that Medicom has done a fantastic job on the weathering and colour paint. The body joints are tight enough for lots of nice poses. Hopefully, Medicom uses its improved bodies for these figures so that their body joints will not break so easily.

WWE "Ultimate Warrior" Mattel Legends Series 4

Got the Mattel WWF Legend "Ultimate Warrior" few weeks ago. The over all packaging design is nice and there is a brief bio of the character printed on the back of the packaging.

Unlike normal series, the figure has a joint in his torso. You could even rotate his legs to get more basic poses.

The head sculpt has a very good likeness to the real person. The paint job is great and the muscle lines are well sculpted.

The championship belt is very well made with "snap-on" feature. This is a plus point. The only thing I do not like is the rubber made armbands as I prefer the fabric made material. Over all, I am still happy to display him with the rest of my wrestling collection :)

Head Play "Danny Trejo" and "Liam Neeson"

Bought two 1/6 scale figure heads released by Head Play recently. One (Danny Trejo) to replace my Toymaster "Superfly" figure head and the other one with "Liam Neeson" likeness is for my additional collection. I will put him on a narrow shoulder truetype body with a black suit :)

"Toy Realm" is formerly known as "Xenohobby Workz" at Sunshine Plaza. The shop owners had moved in CSC last year. They sell a lot of toys and collectibles from Japan and US. There are glass cabinets for rental too.

"Very Cool Stuff" was also opened last year. The owners sell lots of action figures and collectibles from the past. As I did not visit the shop before, I don’t know the owners and pricing of their stuff. Therefore, it’s for you to find out. Haha!!

U-toys eXtreme

"U-toys eXtreme" was opened at CSC level 2 last month. I guess Dave is the owner of the shop. He may be the business partner of "U-toys" since he uses the similar name for his shop. I like the exterior and interior of the shop and all the merchandize are well organized. The window display is pretty nice and majority of the merchandize is 1/6 scale figures. Hot Toys "Berserker Predator" Pt.1

The design of the front slip case is nice as it has some die-cut windows that partially reveal the graphic of the inner box.

The above is the over all appearance of the box. As usual, an image of the figure is printed on front of the box.

The figure is held in a normal plastic tray with extra hands, weapons and accessories.

The "evil look" of the Berserker Predator is the main reason I bought him :P

WWE "Hacksaw Jim Duggan" Mattel Legends Series 3

The reason I picked up "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan figure is I knew him during my secondary school time. His weapon is a wood. He also carried a US flag with his signature battle cry "Hooo!!" and "U-S-A!!" when entering the ring. He was one of the popular superstars in WWF.

Bought the 1/6 scale fast food box set from U-Toys last week.

The box contains eight sets of plastic food samples - Hong Kong style and Western style.

This is one of the fast food set I took out of the box. The actual product is very detailed made and looks realistic as well. I will definitely display them with my 12inch figures.

WWE "Kane" Mattel WrestleMania XXVI Exclusive

I managed to score the WrestleMania XXVI Exclusive Kane yesterday. Besides having new designed wrestling attire, the figure has a chair with WrestleMania XXVI label. The accessory looks nice to me. Anyway, I am not going to open the packaging at this point in time as I would like to keep it in MISB.

Hot Toys "Barney Ross" in The Expendables Pt.1

I love the over all graphic design of the slip case. It has a movie logo with title and name of the character printed in front. At the back, it shows an image of the movie character.

As for the box packaging, the back shows an image of the body tattoos with a list of production credit printed in white.

The front has a skull-patterned window that partially shows Barney Ross and his accessories within. There is another plastic tray that holds the alternate outfit of the figure.

Let's take a closer view of the head sculpt. I have no doubt the figure has a perfect likeness of "Sylvester Stallone" as Barney Ross in "The Expendables". Even if I have not done any review on this figure, I highly recommend to get him if you are a huge fan of Stallone :)

Hot Toys "Iron Man Mark IV" Pt.1

Just got my Hot Toys Mark IV yesterday. The packaging design is similar to other Iron Man 2 masterpiece which has a slip case covering the box. Though the box design is simple, it has a PVC window which allows you to see the fully armoured figure clearly :)

Kenner "R2-D2" and Hasbro "Watto"

Collected these vintage figures last week and they are Kenner "R2-D2" and Hasbro "Watto".

As I do not want to spend so much money on 1/6 scale R2-D2, I picked up the one released by Kenner in 1997. For Watto, I find it is an interesting creature and I will display it together with young Anakin Skywalker on shelves :)

Bandai Model Kit Worldcup Competition 2010

I met Leon Ku (photo credited to Leon from "Open The Toy") at CSC early this month. He told me he has won the first prize in Bandai Model Kit Competition and his Gundam figure was displayed to public at Takashimaya S.C. So, I went to see his masterpiece a few days later.

The left above is Leon Ku's masterpiece while the right one is my favourite of all :)

I just love the airbrush techniques and paint job done on the Gundam figures.

I also like this robot (left above) as he has an unique appearance with very nice body colour.

Though I am not a Gundam fan, it was still a very good experience for me to see the work done by others for their collection :P

Day 3 at STGCC 2010

This year, the 501st Legion (Singapore Garrison) had two Star Wars diorama showcase. One of them showed the battle scene between the AT-AT vehicles and the resistance figurines.

I have no doubt the cosplayers (above) are the members of Movie Mania.

I like the way Action City displayed its Hot Toys Iron Man Mark IV figure :)

Love these beautiful and sexy babes..They definitely worked for the gaming section.

I think this young promoter (left above) worked for aika.asiasoftsea.net and she was very popular too :P

Besides cosplay competitions, we had fashion shows by 虚饰Eitelkeit.

Day 1 at STGCC 2010

Due to recent busy schedules in my work and house renovation, I seldom update my blog. However, I have taken some photos at the STGCC event just ended more than two weeks ago. Here they are...

This was the ticketing counter located at level one of Suntec Exhibition Hall and the event halls were located at level four.

Similar to last year, Action City and other familiar toy booths were there.

As usual, I and my buddy went there to help David to look after his booth.

This was U-Toys booth and Dave was busy talking to his customer.

There were some customised 1/6 scale figures and Soldier Story exclusive figures displayed in U-Toys showcase.

ToynToys also participated in the event and they were having pretty big and nice showcase that filled up with japanese anime figures.

Asiasoft and Playcraft were belonged to the gaming section.

Just took a photo for my buddy with one of the cosplayers outside TFH :)

Soldier Story "Exclusive" for STGCC 2010

This year, I got myself the Soldier Story "Man in Suit with Advanced Narrow Shoulder Body" that was one of the exclusive 1/6 scale figures released for STGCC 2010. This is the paper carrier given when purchasing the Soldier Story figures from U-toys.

The packaging is pretty standard with a thin printed paper cover as slip case of the box. The front and back of the slip case have images of the figure with some text and logos.

The appearance of the box is in black with shining silver text and logos printed on front of the box lid. Remove the box lid is a fully dressed figure with likeness of Jeff Bridges surrounded in black die-cast foam. The figure also comes with two plastic packs of accessories. The accessories are a leather-like belt, a pair of socks, an extra pair of skinned hands and a cigar stub.

U-toys also gave me a handphone pouch that has their shop logo and address printed on as complimentary gift :)

Toy Carnival at SAM 8Q on 5 Dec 2010

This was the second Toy Carnival event organised by TFH this year. The first one was held in May 2010. As expected, we would see Zinc with his crew members and some familiar faces there.

These are some slight customised 1/6 scale figures by members of OneSixthWarriors.

The clone troopers with different colour deco are my favourite of all.

G&B Comics always had their booth beside TFH.

Surprisingly, Sebastian and Dave participated in the event while Simply Toys was not there.

As usual, I went down to help David to look after his booth (right above).

Jason had his booth setup beside David. Of coarse, there were some cosplayers participated in the event. I also saw Ken and Leon, but did not see Dennis that day. You may read Ken's coverage here, Leon's coverage here and Dennis's coverage here.

WWE "Sheamus" Mattel PPV6 Royal Rumble

Finally got the WWE figure "Sheamus" from Playbar as I have been waiting for him for quite some time. I will be keeping the figure in sealed box as this is the first release by Mattel.

Though the likeness of the head sculpt is not perfect but the colour paint on the hair and body is very well replicated. I like this character as not only he is a popular villain in WWE but also capable of destroying his opponents in the ring.

Hot Toys "War Machine" in Iron Man 2 Pt.1

Similar to the previous two releases for Iron Man 2 series - Whiplash and Black Widow, the packaging has a slip case showing the picture of the movie character at the front and the action figure at the back.

Remove the slip case, you will see a box with clear plastic window showing the armoured figure within. The list of production credit is printed on the back of the box.

For the accessories, you will have an alternate head with authentic likeness of Don Cheadle as Col. James "Rhodey" Rhodes in the movie, three extra pairs of interchangeable palms with light up repulsors, a face plate, a small rocket known as "Ex-Wife", two forearm machine guns, a rotatable and multi-directional gatling gun, an ammo strip and a figure stand.

Enterbay "Ip Man" Pt.1

The box packaging is simple with magnetic closures at the side. The front shows picture of Donnie Yen as Ip Man practicing his Wing Chun martial arts on the wooden dummy. At the back, the top part shows the movie scene where Ip Man was facing the ten Karate students. The bottom part has some text printed in English and Japanese as guidelines to maximize the life of the said product.

Open up the box, you will see three compartment containing a die-cut foam for the figure and two plastic trays for the accessories. The accessories given are three extra pairs of interchangeable hands, a white kung fu shirt, a wooden dummy, a feather duster and a metal made colour patterned floor tile.

Besides figure and accessories, there is a printed colour card showing the drawings of hundred and sixty five strokes of Wing Chun martial arts.

As you can see, the head sculpt is still okay with an 80% resemblance to the real actor. I will do my review on this figure as soon as possible...

Hot Toys "Abigail Whistler" in Blade Trinity Pt.2

This is the female figure that possesses pretty good likeness of "Jessica Biel" as Abigail Whistler in the Blade Trinity movie. As usual, the paint job done on the facial sculpt is good. Her facial expression is quite movie accurate with soft skin texture, finely painted eyebrows, life-like eyes and lips. Hot Toys is always attentive to details, you can even see slight moles on her face.

The belt buckle looks nice as there are some details embossed on the surface. I personally think the black leather harness with buckles serves "no purpose" and it is only an add-on accessory to the lower outfit.

I did not remove the transparent plastic sheet underneath the arm protective gear as to avoid the rubber arm from getting dyed after a certain period of time. Although the folded bow has some working joints, they are just for "show off". The bow also fits perfectly to the bow stand.

Abigail has a long and curly multi-layered stereoscopic hair sculpture. Although her hair is made of rubber material, it looks pretty realistic with different brown color tone.

Abigail wears a patterned top with another red top inside. She also wears a pair of dark brown leather-like pants. Great stitching work done on the outfits and they fit perfectly to the figure.

The metallic handgun with working bullet chamber and hammer fits nicely in the fabric made holster.

As the neck, chest and upper abdomen of the figure is made of rubber material, the articulation of the body is restricted. For head posing, no issue to the articulation of the neck. Both arms can be raised sideways and move forward and backward. The elbows are bendable as well. The articulation of the legs is restricted due to the tight leather-like pants Abigail wears.

The boots are well sculpted with painted stitching. There is a little slot at the front underside of the right boot for you to insert the silver blade.

As some parts of the bow are very fragile, I did not pose Abigail to hold her bow with arrow. I only pose Abigail to hold her UV bow with removable UV beam that made of translucent blue plastic.

Abigail has a red with brown leather-like jacket and there is a working zip at each side of the sleeves. She also has three pair of interchangeable hands for you to swap.

The forearm gauntlet with ejected blade is also one of the weapons given with the figure. Besides the fabric made casing for holding arrows, the three black tubes are used to store the arrows too. Overall, Abigail is a great figure to be part of my collection. You may view the box packaging here.

Hot Toys "T-1000" in Terminator 2 Pt.1

Hot Toys "Black Widow" in Iron Man 2 Pt.2

This is the second Scarlett Johansson figure produced by Hot Toys. The earlier one was for the movie character "Silken Floss" in "The Spirit".

The figure has likeness of Johansson but not perfect. The facial sculpt is beautifully executed with detailed eyebrows, life-like eyes and glossy lips. The lips are well sculpted and they look realistic.

The bracelets are add-on accessories to the jumpsuit. As usual, the sculpting and paint job done on the weapons are great. The pistols with removable magazines fit very well to the gloved hands and the darker one fits in the holster as well.

The boots are soft that maximise her ankle movement. The leg joints are tight that allow the figure to pose without using the display stand.

Hot Toys is also the first time to release the female figures with rooted curly hair (please correct me if I were wrong). For Black Widow, she has brownish red long curly hair. The S.H.I.E.L.D. logo is also printed on each side of the arms.

I like the soft texture of the facial skin and the colour tone looks natural. The paint job done on the eyelashes and eyeliner is very good too.

The tight jumpsuit is tailored with a 1/6 zipper in front. But the jumpsuit restricts some body movement. For instance, you are only able to raise her arms or bend her elbows to a certain position.

Besides the waist belt, Black Widow has another grey belt that holds holster and pouches.

Although Hot Toys "Black Widow" does not have a perfect likeness of Johansson, she is still a gorgeous looking figure. I highly recommend to pick it up. You may click here to view its box packaging.

WWE "Kane" Mattel Elite Series 4

As usual, I took photos on the front and back of the blister packaging :)

It’s obvious that the figure has a pretty good facial expression of "Kane".

For Elite series, the figure has an articulated chest that allows for great poses.

The face towel is not realistic as it is made of plastic rather than fabric material.

The grey chains can be removed from the figure as it is made of elastic soft rubber.

Sideshow - 41st Elite Corps Clone Trooper Pt.2

The design of the helmet and body armour is the same as 501st Legion Clone Trooper. Besides having grey deco on the armour, the figure has an in-built communication device with antenna at the back of the armour. Great paint job with realistic weathering on the armour. As usual, Sideshow figures have loose joints, this one is no exception. However, this is a good figure to have in my Star Wars collection. You may click here to view the box packaging.

Legend of The Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen

"A continuation of the 1995 television series Fist of Fury, Donnie Yen reprises his role as Chen Zhen, a role made famous by Bruce Lee in "Fist Of Fury" (1972). The film is set seven years after the apparent death of Chen Zhen, who was shot after discovering who was responsible for his teacher's death in Japanese-occupied Shanghai. A mysterious stranger arrives from overseas and befriends a local mafia boss. That man is a disguised Chen Zhen, who intends to infiltrate the mob when they form an alliance with the Japanese. Disguising himself as a caped fighter by night, Chen intends to take out everyone involved as well as get his hands on an assassination list prepared by the Japanese (Movie Overview: Yahoo! Movies Singapore)."

The story is lacking and a little confused as it consists of romance, brotherhood, betrayal and politics. I feel that the director focused too much on the dramatic scenes especially to the love story between Donnie Yen and Shu Qi. I guess most audiences would prefer to see more action from the male lead. I also wonder why Donnie wanted to mimic Bruce Lee’s fighting moves when he fought with an entire dojo of Japanese students. I believe his unique martial arts were good enough already. As for the final fight between Donnie and the Japanese Boss, it was too short. Talking about my favourite part of the movie, it was the beginning when Donnie killed those enemy soldiers in the European war. Donnie’s fast and furious moves were again delivered in this movie. As for Shu Qi, she is hot and sexy, and her performance is great. Despite to the negative comments above, the movie is still enjoyable especially to the fighting scenes. Don’t miss it if you were a fan of Donnie Yen (Movie Rating: 3/5).

WWE "Undertaker" Mattel PPV4 Elimination Chamber

This is the third "Undertaker" figure I have in my collection. The reason I bought this piece is because I always wanted a show-off chest Undertaker to be displayed on shelf. Surprisingly, the head sculpt and wrestling attire look exactly the same as the one in "Pay Per View 2: Survivor Series".

WWE "Santino Marella" Mattel 2 Packs Series 1

Compared to the earlier release by Jakks Pacific, this head sculpt has a better likeness of Santino Marella. His facial expression is very accurate too.

Due to its limited articulation, these are some basic poses I can get from the figure.

The paint work on the facial sculpt is good and his wrestling attire is also nicely replicated.

Besides having tattoos on the front torso, arms and legs, Santino has a big one at his back.

In WWE, Santino is an entertainer rather than a wrestler as he seldom wrestles in the ring. You may read my previous post on Jakks Pacific Santino here.
