Aoshima 1/48 "Airwolf" Diecast Model SGM-08 Pt.2

You may display Airwolf using its plastic stand printed with logo.

A closer look at where the "Sunburst" anti-missile flares were released from the side of the fuselage.

I have no doubt about the paint application of the helicopter and it looks realistic.

Unfortunately, I was not able to show you the rotor system of the helicopter as it is not working anymore. I played the helicopter once after unboxing it for checking. That was before 2008.

Overall, I am very pleased with the helicopter as it brings back my childhood memories. Airwolf is also one of my favorite 80's TV series at all times (Part 1 review here). You may also see the video review via EJD84 here.

Aoshima 1/48 "Airwolf" Diecast Model SGM-08

It's a simple designed box printed with image of the actual model and its features.

The helicopter is made of metal with small amount of plastic parts. This is the cobalt blue version released by Aoshima in 2005.

I guess Airwolf was the only helicopter that possesses "turbojet" engines in the 80's :)

Press the red button at the bottom of the fuselage to activate the main rotor and tail rotor.

You can open its doors to reveal the pilot "Hawke" and interior of the cockpit.

The wheels allow you to move the helicopter forward and backward.

Left above shows the main rotor and right above shows the chain guns and cannon extended from the sponson.

The missile launcher also acts as a "fastener" to lock and unlock the battery compartment.

You can retract the landing gear by pulling the metal bar in the rear body section (Part 2 review here).
Enjoy the opening intro and soundtrack...
