The King of Fighters

"If you're lucky enough to be invited to the secret King of Fighters tournament you get an earpiece. When it rings, you answer. When you answer, you're gone - you step out of time and space and into another place: the Tournament Dimension. Everything is heightened there, the colors, the textures, your own abilities - not to mention those of your challenger. The first fighter in chooses the setting, so you better be ready because he'll always choose to his advantage. If you win, you move to the next round. And if you're skilled enough to be the last one standing, you become "The King of Fighters." But beware. Because something else also lurks in the Tournament Dimension: the Orochi - an evil force trapped centuries ago by three ancient Japanese clans. All you need to do is touch it to become far more powerful than any other fighter. But this power comes with a price. Once the Orochi gets a hold of you it never lets go, and given sufficient time, it will drive you mad and use you as an anchor back to this dimension to destroy life as we know it on earth."

I wonder how the film makers got the video game licence. They didn't show any sincerity and efforts at all. Did you ever see Kyo Kusanagi used samurai sword in the video game series? In the movie, the image of Iori Yagami and Terry Bogard was suck..I believe there are many good Asian actresses who can speak fluent English, why did they select Maggi Q as the female lead? Furthermore, she doesn't have "assets" to play the role of Mai Shiranui. Those people didn't even try to make and follow the characters' costumes. How much money to make those costumes only? I normally don't expect good plots from the video game movies. But this one made me fell asleep..Just imagine how bad the story is..Lastly, I just wanted to say if you (film maker) are not sincere to make a good film, PLEASE don't waste your resources to get the licence..You are such a spoiler!! Do you know that?? (Overall Movie Rating: 1.5/5).

Hot Toys "Whiplash" in Iron Man 2 Pt.1

Nowadays, Hot Toys also saves cost in the box packaging. The front slipcase shows picture of the movie character and the back shows pictures of the figure.

The box design is simple. The front has a clear plastic window to expose the partial dressed figure while the back has a list of production credit with illustrated ARC reactor as background.

The accessories are display stand, a set of fisted hands and a pair of metal-like whips. I will upload more pictures on this figure in my next post.

My visit to Dennis Home on 21 Aug 2010

Last week, Leon and I were invited to Dennis home for his third child baby full month.

This was the second toy collector home I visited. My first was to Shaun home last year.

I like the way Dennis displays his collection..Very organise and neat :)

As you can see, Macross figures and Gundam figures are Dennis main toy lines.

It was a good experience for me to see another toy blogger collection. I just want to say: "Dennis, thank you for your invitation..May god bless you and your family!! See you soon" :P

Sideshow "Store Exclusive" Sandtrooper (Corporal: Tatooine)

I don't know what so special about this figure as the label on the front packaging says "Sideshow Store Exclusive".

Here are the back view and side view of the packaging with images of the armoured figure.

The packaging has magnetic closures at the side panel which work the same way as the previous releases.

Same kind of paint work and weathering done on the body armour.

Besides stormtrooper blaster, the DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle is the weapon comes with the figure.

The figure has good articulation but loose joints. Thus, the display stand is necessary for certain poses.

The accessories given are extra set of hands, mini pouch, shoulder pouches and black shoulder pauldron. They work pretty well.

The backpack is well produced and the design is slightly different when comparing the earlier releases (read my posts on Squad Leader Sandtrooper here and Sergeant Sandtrooper here). Overall, I am pleased with the price tag I got for this figure. I am sure the Corporal Sandtrooper will look nice when posing him side by side with other Sandtroopers on the shelves.

Penang Trip - Day 2 on 7 Aug

David was the driver for our rented car. We had breakfast at the nearby coffee shop. I ordered a bowl of curry noodles aka curry mee with toppings of tofu puffs, cockles, prawns, cuttlefish and cubes of pig's blood jelly. It was worth trying :P

We then visited the famous Toy Museum in Penang. It is also the largest Toy Museum in the world. Can you believe that??

I guess the owner is not a fan of Transformers as I didn't see much Transformers figures there.

The owner is definitely a huge Star Wars fan as he has tons of Star Wars figures and vehicles (more pictures uploaded in Facebook here).

The owner also has 1:1 scale movie character statues. His collection is very impressive and we were there for almost 2 hours. When looking for lunch buffet, we saw Hard Rock Hotel. We headed towards the Rock Shop without hesitation. The shop has a large variety of Hard Rock mechandise.

All of us finally decided to have our lunch in "The Ship" as we were attracted to the outer look of the restaurant.

I personally think the interior design and decoration of the restaurant is very nice.

I tried the Malaysian Fried Rice. The rice set looks very good and it was delicious :)

After lunch, we walked to the beach as the location is just behind "The Ship" restaurant. When walking along the beach, these sexy babes caught our attention..Haha!!

We also drove to Penang Bridge accidentally as we missed the turn to Queensbay Mall, the largest shopping mall in town. Then reached the shopping mall after one and a half hours driving to and fro Perai (via Penang Bridge), the other side of Malaysia.

Unique Toys and Robot Master are the two main toy shops selling our favourite collectibles. Unfortunately, their pricing is too high for us.

Later, we had dinner in the Hong Kong Kim Gary Restaurant. I had my Korean spicy soup noodles with shredded pork and fried egg.

David then drove us to his die-die must go night market and food paradise "Red Garden".

David ate his favourite "Loh Bak" which is something similar to our "Ngor Hiang (Five Spices or 五香)" in Singapore and my supper was the barbeque chicken wings. These were all I had for the second day of my Penang trip. You may read my Day 1 trip here.
