Avatar is a sci-fi, adventure and action packed movie. I enjoyed watching the movie even though the story line was predictable. The land forest was beautifully created in a sense that audience could feel they were in the world of Pandora that filled with creative imagination. The visual effects were superb and fantastic graphics kept my attention all the time. The human warships reminded me of those in the "Aliens" and the virtual creatures were simply amazing. Of coarse, the final battle scenes between the human and Navi were breathtaking. There are too many credits to give for this film and I am sure this is one of the best films I have ever seen this year. It's a MUST watch movie and truly another visual masterpiece from James Cameron (Overall rating for this film is 4/5).

Heroic - Perfection Killer

The figure represents Jean Reno in "Leon - The Professional". It comes with lots of accessories that packed in a clear plastic PVC box.

After taking the figure out of the box, I took a quick glance on the shoes and outfit.

Even though the head sculpt produced is not that good, the likeness of Jean Reno is there. I am very happy the "little plant" is also given with the figure. I will do a review on this figure as soon as I can.

Takara Tomy - Human Alliance Skids Pt.2 (ROTF)

The head of HA Skids is quite movie accurate. The colour scheme of HA Skids is similar to Deluxe Skids. I like the details of the body especially the front torso and legs.

Similar to HA Bumblebee, HA Skids has a missile launcher on his right arm. We can have "Mikaela" sits on either side of the robot's arms.

Despite the bulky backpack, the figure is still able to stand steadily on his own.



The overall joint articulation of the figure is good. I would be more happy if the figure wrists were in ball joints to have more posability of the hands. Now, Mikaela controls the gatling gun that originally hides behind Skids's head.

To fire the missile, we just press the grey button on the side of the launcher.


Not forgetting to mention we can make Skids's mouth move by pressing down the top part of his head.

This is the so-called "Arcee" in Robot Mode that comes with HA Skids.

I don't know why the figure named as Arcee. Only the body colour is similar to Deluxe Arcee but its body design looks like Deluxe Chromia.

To me, HA Skids is the best figure in Human Alliance Series. Having this set is simply a "bonus" as it comes with two additional figures - Mikaela and Arcee. You may view HA Skids in Chevy Beat Concept Mode here and transformation via Optibotimus video here.

Mattel - "Stantz" in Ghostbusters Pt.1

Finally got the Ghostbusters 12inch figure "Stantz" from flea market at China Square Central yesterday. The figure looks pretty nice in sealed box and I definitely will do a review on this piece soon :)

The Storm Warriors II

"Japanese evil warlord Lord Godless desired to conquer China. He imprisoned a large number of martial artists and tried to make them subjugate. Among the prisoners were Cloud and the martial expert elder statesman Nameless. Wind came to the rescue. The trio was badly wounded by Lord Godless evil martial arts attack and the remaining martial artists sacrificed their lives to save the trio. Cloud was filled with remorse and vowed to take revenge. Wind chose to take the evil way to quickly boost up his martial arts skills in order to defeat Lord Godless (Movie Synopsis: Golden Village website)."

I believe most of the Hong Kong comic fans know the movie. The movie plot is weak and it's more about martial arts fighting. Some parts of the plot were not explained. For instance, why Wind wanted to steal the Dragon Bone and where was Heart after destroying the Dragon Bone? I found the two female actors were kind of "extra" in the plot since it focused more on male actors. I think the background could be more realistic if the Pangs could take some street scenes rather than hills or forest (may be these were originated from the comic). Despite the above, the visual effects of all martial arts attacks are superb and spectacular. I like the part when Cloud fought with Lord Godless at Dragon Tomb. The armoured suit of Lord Godless is impressive. By looking at the ending, it's obvious there would be a sequel in the future. Anyway, I still would get the movie on DVD as I always love action packed movies (Overall Movie Rating: 3/5). If you are an audience who always consider movie plot before action, this is not the movie for you.

Enterbay - "Nameless" in Storm Warriors II

"Nameless" is the 5th character that Enterbay would produce for its Storm Warriors II series. In the forum, a lot of people said the head sculpt looks like Andy Lau Tak Wah. To me, the sculpt likeness is definitely Kenny Ho Kar King and it could be better. FYI, the movie is out in the cinemas today.
