Medicom - Ultraman (Type C)

Ultraman (Type C) is totally a disaster to me. Besides lousy paint work, no QC for the rubber suit. The joining lines at both shoulders of the suit nearly tore apart when trying to rise both arms. The suit also does not fit nicely to the upper torso of the body and it looks terrible. The only part I like is the mask. Anyway, my rating for this piece is 1 over 5..A Failure!!

Don't follow Ultraman but from your pictures, the figure is really a disaster. Was this figure expensive?

Ya, it costs me SGD150..With the price range, I can get a better 12inch figure from other brands..Very disappointed - Medicom!!

Ouch. That tear looks nasty. Anyway to fix it up?

Can try..Don't think it looks original when we "glue" back..Cos the joining lines at both shoulders were slightly torn when I bought it. If we keep on playing the figure, it will tear further..Think will buy ultraman series either from Bandai or Banpresto in future. Though not poseable but cheaper and it won't damage so easily..

Ted, I think this is the worst Ultraman version that released from Medicom. Don't understand why Medicom wants to make the upper torso of the rubber suit so "extra". Moreover, that area is loose..Like boobs when you look side view..

just like the movie called "Disaster Movie", real disaster man...M brand needs to buck up alot in their product quality ASAP, losing a lot of customer faith already

Ya, agree with you, Ken..I have very good impression on M brand previously but now losing confidence on it..

des, sorry for your situation. The worst thing is you can't even check the entire figure for defects at the point of purchase.

Ya..I think all the type C got these problems (tore a bit) even they are brand new. It's just that the number of times you play with it. The more the serious..I hate most is the upper torso area of the suit. If you do not raise the figure's arms and pull down the "extra" rubber towards the hip area, it looks more terrible man!!

Hi Des,

Feel sorry for your M toy. I'm a M toy collector for 8 yrs & must say that the standards has drop especially at the head sculpt & limited RAH body ranges. With Hot toys being so aggressive & Enterbay raising the bar, i guess M toys would need to focus on their Manga figures instead...

@Spider88 - Agree with you..Medicom is actually very good in Manga Series.

Sorry Desmond for this terrible problem. I have a Medicom's Ultraman Jack and I didn't like too. The sculpt and the body are not so good. At least the Ultraman Type C looks more proportional and the mask more accurate. Here in Brazil some people are very sad with Medicom, because the problem of the chest from Goku/Dragonball. The chest was made with poor quality and cracked. The solution to fans is Hot Toys start to produce these type of figures: Ultraman series and Kamen Rider Series.

Supekudx - Same here, I like the head of Type-C only. I don't think HotToys will go into Japanese Anime and TV Drama characters as HT is more focusing on western movie related characters. At least for the time being. I think every toy companies are focusing on the areas they are specialised and they won't anyhow go into the series that they are not familiar. Just like Medicom TDK figures, the headsculpts and outfits are not as good as Hottoys version. May be I am wrong..Haha!!
